Day 1 -  Istanbul

Whether you arrive in Istanbul at Ataturk Airport or Sabiha Gokcen, you will be met by a member of our staff holding up your name card, and taken to your hotel. You have the rest of  the day free to relax or explore the old city on your own.

Day  2  -  Istanbul - Walking City Tour  ( B / L )

We start our tour in Sultanahmet, the heart of old Istanbul.

Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) is one the greatest masterpieces of Byzantine architecture, built by Emperor  Justinian in the 6th century. Converted into a mosque in 1453 by Conqueror Mehmet, it is now one of the  world's greatest museums. Its massive dome still dominates the skyline of old Istanbul .

Blue Mosque is one of the most prominent landmarks of the city. It takes its name from the exquisite Iznik tiles that decorate the interior, and it is the only imperial mosque with six minarets. Designed by a pupil of the famous architect Sinan in the 17th century, it was originally called Sultanahmet, from which the area takes its name.

Hippodrome was the centre of sporting and social events during the Byzantine Empire. The Serpentine Column, The Obelisk of Theodosius and The German Fountain are notable monuments decorating the arena.

Grand Bazaar is the oldest and largest shopping centre in Turkey, situated in the centre of the old city. It has 4,000 shops full of treasures, including carpets, leather, icons, ceramics and jewellery .

Topkapı Palace was the principal residence of the Ottoman Sultans for nearly 400 years. It is now a museum and houses a fabulous collection of crystal, silver, Chinese porcelain, jewels and costumes. The armoury and royal Harem are particularly worth seeing.

Little Hagia Sophia Mosque was formerly the Church of Sergius and Baccus. You may see fine examples of early Byzantine art.

At the end of the tour we will transfer you to your hotel.

Important  note:
Ayasofya  closed Mondays / replaced  with  Underground  Cistern.

Then we take an unforgettable tour of the Bosphorus. Relaxing on deck while we cruise up this legendary waterway, you will see many gorgeous palaces, Ottoman mansions, imposing fortresses, ancient fishing villages and beautiful bays. Rumeli Fortress built by Mehmet  the Conqueror in just three months before he took control of Istanbul and the great trade route of the Bosphorus. Bosphorus Bridge, which links one continent (Europe)  to another  (Asia ).
Beylerbeyi Palace, built in 1865 on the Asian side, was the summer residence of the Ottoman sultans and the last prison of the deposed Sultan Abdulhamid II, from 1912 till his death in 1919. Our final destination is Camlıca  Hill, the highest point of Istanbul. In the park at the top you can rest and  admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
