2013 ANZAC Day: 2-Day Tour - Gallipoli, Troy & Pergamum, Turkey Tours

2 Days  -  Gallipoli, Anzac and Troy  

 

Day 1:  24  April  - Istanbul,  Gallipoli  Battlefields  ( L )

After  an  early  breakfast  at  your  hotel  in  Istanbul  we  set  out  for  an  afternoon  tour  of  Gallipoli . The  terrible battlefields  of  World  War 1  are  now  a  serene  place  of  rememberance.  We  visit  the  Lone  Pine  Australian  Memorial,  Chunuk  Bair  New  Zealand  Memorial,  Anzac  Cove,  Johnton's  Jolly  Cemetry  and  the  Gallipoli  Museum. Lunch  at  nice  local  restaurant.

After  your  tour  we  find  a  comfortable  place  on  the  grass, at  the  front, ready  for  the  dawn  service  before the  crowds  arrive.

 Overnight  in  Canakkale.

 

Day 2 -  Troy,  Pergamum  ( B / L )

After  breakfast  at  your  hotel  we  set  off  for  Troy  and  Pergamum.  We  visit  the  ancient  city  of  Troy, famous  for  the  legendary  Trojan  horse  and  Helen,  the  beautiful  Queen  whose  abduction  by  Parıs  started  the Trojan  War. Then  we  visit  the  ancient  town  of  Pergamum  with  its  magnificent  acropolis  and  one  of  the  steepest  amphitheatres  in  the  world.   

At  the  end  of  the  day  you  take  a  night  bus  back  to  Istanbul.
